General Questions
Please see our most frequently asked questions listed below. We hope this will give you a better understanding of our business and what to expect with services. If you have questions or concerns not listed below, please give us a call as we are always happy to help!
What is routine foot care, and why is it important?
Routine foot care involves regular assessments and care to maintain foot health, especially for individuals with diabetes, circulation issues, or other conditions. Proper care can prevent complications such as infections, ulcers, and other foot-related problems.
Who provides the foot care services?
Our foot care services are provided by a qualified and experienced registered nurse who specializes in foot health. They are trained to perform assessments, routine foot care, and educate clients about proper foot care.
What services are included in routine foot care?
Services typically include:
- Nail trimming, filing and shaping
- Callus and corn removal
- Skin assessment and moisturizing
- Education on foot hygiene and preventative health measures
Is this service available to everyone?
Our services are available to adults of all ages. However, we particularly focus on the senior population with chronic conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, poor circulation, and/ or those with physical limitations.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No referral is necessary. You can contact us directly via phone or email to schedule an appointment for foot care services.
What is the cost of the service?
Our foot care services are offered on a private-pay basis. We do not accept Medicare or any other types of private insurance. Please contact us for specific pricing information, as fees may vary based on the services or location provided.
In many cases routine foot care is not a covered service by Medicare or other insurances. However if you are unable to afford the cost of our service, we encourage you to reach out to your local podiatrist and insurance company to see what your coverage is for routine foot care and find out if you will have a deductible to pay. We are an alternative for individuals who can not find affordable care elsewhere or those who would prefer individualized footcare services by a trained nurse in the comfort of their home.
Where are the services provided?
We provide foot care services in the comfort of your home in Medina County, Ohio. This allows for a personalized and convenient experience for those who are unable to get out or just choose to have a more private foot care experience.
We also partner with community businesses/facilities to offer clinics to their members. These businesses can choose to allow members only or open up appointments to the public. We will update our website and Facebook page as these partnerships are formed. Clinics allow us to offer services at a lower cost due to less travel and set up time between appointments.
How often should I have foot care appointments?
The frequency of appointments depends on individual foot health needs. Typically, we recommend every 8 weeks, but this can be discussed during your initial consultation.
What should I expect during my first appointment?
During your first appointment, the nurse will conduct a thorough foot assessment, discuss specific medical history, and provide a personalized foot care plan. The session will also include basic routine foot care services, including trimming and filing the nail as well as dry skin, and callus treatment. In certain cases depending on the condition of your feet, more than one appointment may be required to complete full service. Home appointments are scheduled up to 1 hour. Clinic appointments(upon availability) are up to 30min in length.
How can I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment by calling us directly at 216-435-1983 or Via Email at Nurse@GentleSolesFCN.com
What safety measures are in place during the appointment?
We follow strict infection control procedures, including proper hand hygiene, the use of protective gear, ensuring all tools are properly sterilized, as well as using top of the line equipment that helps minimize the dust particles in the air during filing.
Can I get foot care services if I have a specific medical condition?
You can still receive foot care services; however, it's essential to inform the nurse of any medical conditions. They will assess your situation and tailor the treatment accordingly. Keep in mind, we do not diagnose or treat any medical illness or injury. If we see something beyond our scope of practice we will make recommendations on following up with your Primary Physician or Podiatrist.
What are the requirements for your group/clinic rates?
We partner with community businesses to offer clinics to their customers who either live in or frequent the business so our services remain convenient for our customers. These businesses could include nursing homes, assisted living facilities, independent living senior homes, community senior centers, churches and more. We require a minimum of 4 customers to be scheduled for back to back visits on a clinic day. We can see up to 10 customers on a clinic day typically between the hours of 10am-3pm. Appointments are scheduled 30 min apart. Due to the ease of staying in one location we are able to offer clinic rates to customers at a discounted price compared to our home visits. Rates vary depending on situation. Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about our group/clinic rates and availability or if you are a local business who would like to set up a clinic for your customers.
